Public Works Director/Worker
The Town of Sheridan is accepting applications for a full-time Public Works employee or Director depending on qualifications. The position performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled technical and maintenance work, and operates a variety of equipment in the construction, operation, repair, maintenance, and replacement of the Town’s water and parks, and other public works projects and programs.
All applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license. Applicants must possess, or have the ability to obtain within 1 year, a Class 3A Water Distribution Operator, a Class 3B Water Treatment Operator, and a Class 3C Wastewater Treatment Operator certifications.
The applicant must be self-motivated and responsible. A vehicle will be provided for use while at work. Public Works employees must coordinate schedules with coworkers to provide 24/7 coverage for water and wastewater plant operations as well as to maintain roads and parks. Applicants must be available for on-call The successful applicant would be eligible for Public Employee Retirement System enrollment, Group Health Benefits, and paid vacation, sick and holiday time. Starting wage $20-$23 DOE. Wages will increase by $1/hour as each of the certifications are successfully completed.
